By using SWRL you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
You must be of legal drinking age where you live — at least 21 in the United States, and at least 18 everywhere else. SWRL is about tasting wine, and by using it you confirm you meet that requirement.
You sign in with Apple. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Don't share it. Tell us at swrlwine@gmail.com if you think someone else has access.
This matters, so we're saying it plainly.
SWRL uses artificial intelligence to read wine labels and to generate the tasting notes, coaching and expected characteristics you see in the app. This information is generated automatically. It may be incomplete, out of date, or simply incorrect.
Do not rely on SWRL for:
Always read the actual bottle. The label is authoritative; SWRL is not.
Where SWRL indicates that information is based on published notes for a specific wine, that reflects what our system found — not a guarantee of accuracy. Where it indicates information is typical for a style or region, it is a generalisation and may not describe the bottle in your hand.
The palate profile SWRL builds reflects what you recorded. It's a learning tool, not an expert assessment, and it isn't a recommendation to buy anything.
SWRL encourages attentive tasting, not consumption. Nothing in the app should be read as encouragement to drink more. Never drink and drive. If you're concerned about your drinking, please speak to a healthcare professional.
SWRL offers an optional paid subscription.
Free-tier limits are described in the app and may change. If they change, any active paid subscription is unaffected for its current period.
You keep ownership of the photographs and notes you create in SWRL.
By uploading a photograph of a wine label, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store and process that image to provide the app, and to use wine label imagery — separated from your account and your identity — to improve SWRL's label recognition. This licence survives deletion of your account only for images already separated from your account in this way; all images linked to your account are deleted when you delete it.
You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload.
We aim to keep SWRL running, but we don't guarantee it. Features may change or be removed. We may suspend or discontinue the service.
You can delete your account any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
SWRL IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT WINE INFORMATION IN THE APP IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR CURRENT.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of your use of SWRL is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app. Using SWRL after a change means you accept it.
